Day two of the tournament was a nail biting game for the Varsity Boys Generals. Playing against Wren High school proved to be a great match up – so much so that they were tied at 46 before going into overtime, with the Generals pulling out the WIN in the last 2 minutes of OT. The Generals play Hart County on Monday at 8:30PM.

I choose to photograph much of this game with my 85mm lens. It’s not a conventional sports lens, and I use it mostly for portraits, but I love the crispness of the lens, plus the 1.8 aperture let me lower my ISO, resulting in better image quality. It wasn’t great under the basket, but I think I was able to get some good shots. I still had my trusty 70-200 on my other D750 body. I think for Monday’s game, I’m bringing my 15-30 wide Tamron lens, and the 70-200. That seems to be a great combo for Basketball.
