Game Day Photos: Falcons vs. Lions

Taylors Falcons 10u vs. Lions

You could not ask for better weather this past Thursday night! Beautiful blue skies with the sun falling quickly in the west, and perfect field conditions for these 10u teams. I wasn’t shooting alone tonight – I had Adrian with me – who it turns out – is an absolute natural at sports photography! This shouldn’t be a shocker really, he has a natural artistic eye, a “show me once and I got it” tallent, and most of all, a love and understanding of football that makes him out to be an incredible football photographer!

Adrian used the Nikon D750 with the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 – shooting at 2.8 and 1/1000 shutter speed, and started at ISO 200. As the sun sunk lower in the sky, the ISO had to be inched up to a final of 320, making for great photos!

I was shooting close up shots with the 24-70mm f/2.8, keeping that 1/1000 shutter speed as well. I had fun being the “second shooter” knowing that Adrian had the primary in the bag with his skill and attention. One of my favorites I was able to get was a field goal sequence. At this age, the O-line drops to their stomachs and allows the kicker to kick without any rushing behind them.
