Taylors Falcons vs. Travelers Rest Devil Dogs
Fall is in the AIR! Wow, what an awesome evening here in the upstate of South Carolina! The temperature sunk down to a wonderful 70℉ during the game, and I was telling myself that next week, I should probably bring a long sleeve shirt. ?
The game tonight was great for the Falcons as they not only secured the “dub” but also placed them at 2-0. Travelers Rest had some good players, and some big kids on the team, but the Falcons defense stopped the runs every single time. The game was riddled with flags – with 4 (I think) for having too many players on the field!! First time I’ve seen more than one of those calls in a game!
I was shooting with the Nikon D750 with the 70-200mm f2.8 tonight – propped up on Manfrotto Element monopod and a Desmond DMH-2X1 Monopod Tilt Head that I absolutely LOVE! It allows great control of of tilt, while I loosen the collar around the 70-200 to give me two axis movement. Adrian was shooting with the other D750 with the Tamron 24-70, and did a great job of getting the wider shots, and great sideline photos when the action came right by us.
Once again, there was a really beautiful sunset. We couldn’t see the sun, but the clouds went from pink on one side of the sky to a purple on the other. After the game, we piled into a booth at IHOP for dinner breakfast, came home, Bonnie culled through the 1065 images we shoot tonight and I wrote this blog post. All in all, it was a great night, and I’m looking forward to Wade Hampton High School Varsity game tomorrow night! GO GENERALS!
